Champion PL Series Air Compressor
The Champion Pl Series is for operation in extreme duty applications. It can operate up to 250 psig. Therefore, pressure settings below the pressure rating of the receiver used in the system is a requirement. Safety consideration demands the use of a pressure relief valve with a setting below that of the tank used in the system.
While the design of these lend themselves to use in extreme applications, the cleanliness of the inlet filter, the inter-cooler as well as the cooling fins on the compressor itself is of utmost importance. The service life of the unit suffers In the event any of these become clogged.
These units utilize all the features of the R series but add pressure lubrication for an even longer service life as well as higher pressure capabilities. An oil filter is standard. However, even synthetic oil cannot compensate for dirt that passes through the inlet filter and the oil filter. No filter is 100% efficient. However, changing the oil and inlet filter more frequently in dirty or dusty environments will mitigate this to a certain degree.
The PL Series is available in 2 to 30 horsepower configurations. Available with electric motors, gas or diesel engines. Also available as simplex, duplex, tank or base mounted configurations. All these units are two-stage machines.
Most of these units are available as vertical tank mounted, horizontal tank mounted as well as base mounted. Therefore these units fit a wide variety of applications. Due to the extreme reliability these units will survive in severe extremes of heat and cold as well as dry and wet conditions. Global installations abound.
